![]() Morgan M. Masters is originally from Caledonia, Ohio, a small town one hour north of Columbus. As far back as she can remember, Morgan set her goal of becoming a Criminal Trial Attorney. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Criminology from The Ohio State University, where she was a Mount Leadership Scholar, a setter and defensive specialist on the Ohio State Women’s Club Volleyball Team, and where she spent a summer working in Washington D.C. with a private criminal defense attorney. After graduating from Ohio State in only three years time, Morgan immediately began her legal education at Capital University Law School. With a competitive, focused interest in litigation and criminal defense, Morgan competed on the Mock Trial Team at Capital, and began her career at Joseph E. Scott., Co. as a law clerk. Licensed in Ohio and Federal Courts, she practices mostly Criminal Defense, and represents clients in Felony (Common Pleas), Misdemeanor (Municipal), as well as in Juvenile courts. She has handled cases across Central Ohio, and occasionally practices as far south as Cincinnati, Ohio. Morgan defends serious and violent felony cases including but not limited to Rape, Aggravated Robbery, Burglary, Kidnapping, Drug Trafficking, Drug Possession, and Theft, as well as misdemeanor charges such as Assault, Domestic Violence, OVI, and numerous other Traffic Offenses. As a strong, knowledgeable, and attentive advocate for her clients, Morgan has obtained many victories on her clients’ behalf. A sampling of these victories include an Acquittal (Not Guilty) jury verdict in State of Ohio v. Ellis, a case in which the police wrongly accused a defendant of Felony Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle. In addition, she obtained an Acquittal for a defendant accused of Felony Violation of a Protection Order in State of Ohio v. Brown. Recently, Morgan helped a former County Law Enforcement Nurse avoid a lengthy prison sentence and instead obtain probation upon being convicted of Felony Theft and Tampering with Evidence charges. These are only a sample of Morgan’s triumphs, as she continues to defend her clients vigorously and passionately every day. Morgan is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, as well as in Federal District Court. Morgan is a proud member of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Columbus Bar Association. Finally, she is Co-Editor for The Communicator, a quarterly publication of the Central Ohio Association for Justice, in which she recently wrote an article, soon to be published, regarding recent and changing law in the area of crack cocaine versus powder cocaine sentencing.
